September is another busy month of events including at least one auction, many swap meets, two concours and many car shows throughout the Northwest and western Canada.

The week­end of Sept 6–8 includes the ever pop­u­lar Wheels ‘N’ Waves (5–7) at down­town Sea­side, OR plus your choice of two events over the 7th and 8th — the 30th Rod Run to the End of the World with 800 cars at the tip of Wash­ing­ton’s longest penin­su­la, at  Ocean Park, WA. Amer­i­can Graf­fi­ti Trib­ute with cars from the movie and Can­dy Clark  “Deb­bie Durham”  will be on the field as a spe­cial guest.

Sept 8 is the  11th Annu­al Kirk­land Con­cours at LeMay Muse­um in Taco­ma, WA.

 

As it cel­e­brates its 11th anniver­sary, the Kirk­land Con­cours d’Elegance begins it’s sec­ond year on Sept 8 at the LeMay – America’s Car Muse­um, in Taco­ma. Fea­tur­ing a nine-acre cam­pus – with a four-sto­ry muse­um as the cen­ter­piece – LeMay-ACM, in the shad­ow of Mt. Rainier 30 min­utes south of Seat­tle, is one of the world’s largest auto muse­ums. This fam­i­ly-ori­ent­ed event is regard­ed as one of the pre­mier con­cours events in the coun­try. Also on the Sept 7–8 is British Columbi­a’s extrav­a­gan­za event, the LUXURY & SUPERCAR WEEKEND which includes Shaugh­nessy Con­cours d’Elegance

For the fourth time in Cana­da this lifestyle week­end is the Nation’s finest two day out­door show­ing of Lux­u­ry & Super­cars. The 2013 event once again offers a unique up-close and per­son­al oppor­tu­ni­ty to view the world’s most impor­tant exam­ples of auto­mo­tive achievements.

 

Each car on dis­play is hand­picked by the Con­cours d‘Elegance selec­tion com­mit­tee. Auto­mo­tive enthu­si­asts of rare lux­u­ry super­cars, vin­tage col­lectibles, electric/hybrid and con­cept cars will get the chance to view auto­mo­biles that are nor­mal­ly dis­played only at select elite inter­na­tion­al auto­mo­tive events.

Oth­er events on Sept 7 include the 11th Annu­al Seward (AK) Car Show, the Crow Car Show in Eugene, OR,  the Ore­gon High Desert Swap Meet and Car Show in Red­mond, OR; Wheels on the Water­front in Everett, WA

 

and with new loca­tion and date, the 2nd Annu­al Union Ride & Char­i­ty Ral­ly in Ren­ton, WA which also fea­tures the first and only Seat­tle Sea­hawk motor­cy­cle build.

 

 

 

On Sept 8, Eugene, OR hosts the Con­cours d’El­e­gance on the Green and down­town Edmonds, WA hosts the annu­al favorite Edmonds Clas­sic Car Show.

The week­end of Sept 13–15 in Bend, OR is Ore­gon Fes­ti­val of Cars cel­e­brat­ing many won­der­ful anniver­saries of favorite mar­ques… the 50th for Porsche 911 and Lam­borgh­i­ni, the 60th anniver­sary for Corvette and the 100th for Aston Mar­tin!  Includes a Sun­day “dash” drive.

 

 

The Salem Auto Club Coun­cil’s Mount Angel Okto­ber­fest Cruz-N-Car Show in Mt. Angel, OR (503 588 1932) and two near­by events in con­trast mar­ques — the Apple Val­ley Volk­swa­gen Ass­n’s Volks­fest 2013 in Mox­ee, WA and the Ponies in the Sun Car Show in Yaki­ma, WA.

 

 

 

Sin­gle day events on the 14th range from the High Plains Clas­sics Car Show in Miles City, MT (406 951 1807), the 4th Annu­al Cruise to His­toric Down­town Ore­gon City, OR;  while in Wash­ing­ton, on the 14th, are the stu­dent-com­mu­ni­ty Renais­sance Auto Show host­ed by the Aberdeen High School Renais­sance Team. (Ed. note: Last minute word: the Renais­sance Show has been cancelled)

 

 

Also on the 14th, the infa­mous Arling­ton (WA) Drag Strip Reunion & Car Show at the airport;

 

 

The pop­u­lar  Auto Angels 7th Annu­al Ben­e­fit Car Show, Belle­vue, WA, in addi­tion a bevy of clas­sics, mus­cle and oth­er col­lec­tor cars on Sept 14, the show will have fea­ture two groups. A dis­play of Belle­vue High School Auto Pro­gram fea­tur­ing seniors who have com­plet­ed this pro­gram and pass the ASE test and then are qual­i­fied to go direct­ly into work for a car deal­er or oth­er auto­mo­tive business.

The sec­ond inter­est­ing group is a Team from the UW Mechan­i­cal Engi­neer­ing pro­gram and the SAE com­pe­ti­tion will be bring­ing at least one of their cars.  One car was tak­en to Ger­many for the Inter­na­tion­al Com­pe­ti­tion and placed 7th and 1st place at the FSAE com­pe­ti­tion in Lin­coln NE..  This is the gas pow­ered car, referred to as the cCar.  READ MORE in Stu­dent Cars.

 

Sep 14 - Chelan, WA; Fall in Lake Chelan Car Show & Cruise by the Lak­ers Car Club, of course.

The Stra­tocruis­ers hold their Cruise Into Fall in down­town Enum­claw, WA; while the NW GTO Leg­ends offer up the newest North­west show — Amer­i­can Mus­cle Car Show at Gri­ots Garage, Taco­ma, WA

 

Sun­day, the 15th — in Eagle, ID, the 2nd Annu­al Shriner’s Run for Chil­dren for bik­ers and in Belling­ham, WA,  it’s the Speed and Chrome Show at Hill­crest Chapel (360 220 3578) and the West Seat­tle Junc­tion Car Show at the cen­ter of it all in, of course, West Seat­tle neighborhood.

 

The Sept 21 week­end con­tin­ues to be busy with Gold­en­dale, WA’s Fes­ti­val of Wheels (watch for their Con­cours d’ Mary­hill in Octo­ber); Kit­sap Coun­ty’s Key­port Fest Show and Shine in Key­port, WA

and across the state in Spokane Val­ley, WA the Val­leyfest Car Show.

Sept 21 also includes the Brack­et­stars Block Par­ty Rod­ders  Appre­ci­a­tion Free Car Show as part of Gator Fest at Green Riv­er Com­mu­ni­ty Col­lege in Auburn.WA.

 

 

For farm equip­ment enthu­si­asts and great fam­i­ly fun, there are two events: Lux­ton Antique Farm Equip­ment Club Annu­al Swap Meet in Lang­ford, BC on Sept 21, and the two-day Trac­tor Pull and Swap Meet on Sept 21–22 near Port Orchard, WA.

 

 

At Coos Bay-North Bend, OR  the Cruz the Coos/Shore Acres Show n’ Shine on Sept 21 (this is new date) and SOVREN’s vin­tage rac­ing winds up the year at Pacif­ic Race­ways on Sept 21–22 with the Fall Finale Vin­tage Sports Car Races.

 

 

The final events of Sep­tem­ber are the Greater Van­cou­ver Motor Sports Pio­neer Soci­ety’s Induc­tion Cer­e­mo­ny who rec­og­nize the con­tri­bu­tions of those who were pio­neers of motor­sport in west­ern Cana­da — held in Sur­rey, BC on Sept 28

 

Of spe­cial note to Ore­gon car enthu­si­asts and Mer­cury own­ers & fans:

The Her­itage (OR) Car Show is on and start­ing its sec­ond decade at the park in his­toric down­town Mon­mouth, just west of Inde­pen­dence, OR, off Hiway 99.
